The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC), the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, and the Daros Latinamerica Collection presented the first personal exhibition in Chile by Luis Camnitzer (*1937). The German-Uruguayan artist and writer is undoubtedly a key international representative of Latin American conceptual art.

This landmark retrospective encompassed more than five decades of work, including over 70 pieces dating from 1966 to the present. Most belong to the Daros Latinamerica Collection, the largest collection Latin American art in Europe and the largest institutional collection of works by Luis Camnitzer in the world. The exhibition was mounted so as to reflect the artist’s strong socio-political commitment and his great ability to experiment in various disciplines: sculpture, engraving, installations, objects, drawings, and photography.
